A 27-inch Apple display with mini-LED and ProMotion technology is rumored to have been delayed internally due to production blockages in Shanghai.
According to Ross Young, analyst at Display Supply Chain Consultants, the 27-inch monitor was originally to be produced at a Quanta Computer factory in Shanghai. However, the city’s Covid-19 lockdowns in early 2021 derailed those plans.
Apple leak! The 27″ MiniLED monitor was delayed as it was going to be produced at Quanta in Shanghai which has been locked down. Production is being moved to another location and has been delayed. It now looks like an October release.

Currently, Apple is working to move production of the display to another site, Young said, attributing his information to an “Apple leak”.
The 27-inch monitor is now on track for a potential October release, Young added. In a response to another Twitter user, the analyst added that he didn’t know how much the device would cost beyond “expensive”.
In March, Young said panel production on the 27-inch screen had begun and the device was expected to launch in June. He didn’t provide additional details, but said DSCC assumes it will be called Studio Display Pro.
Apple already has a first-party 27-inch monitor, but the next device is set to upgrade to the Studio Display. Along with the mini LED backlight, Young thinks the screen will also come with Apple’s ProMotion variable refresh rate.
The Apple Studio Display in its current form is a $1,599 device with its own A13 processor, support for Center Stage and spatial audio, plus a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera and matrix of 3 microphones.
